I love to shoot rock concerts. As a life-long rock music enthusiast, I want to absorb the essence and energy of the music through images. Concert photography is a challenging endeavor. Whether it is the stage lighting, performers, or even the fans themselves, concerts possess an inherent variability. It is always a mystery, both before and during a performance, as to how I will be able to claim the dynamism of a performance.
When I photograph a favorite band or performer, I am in a singular moment and nothing can prevent me from being captivated, as I have just grasped the iconic moments of a live event. Concert photography is about seizing the passion and verve of a performer. With my images, I want to present stories of a performer and their band members. I hope that my sampling of concert shots has captured the stories of David Cook, Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Daughtry, Jared Leto of Thirty Seconds to Mars, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Scott Stapp, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend of The Who, Nine Inch Nails, Gavin Degraw, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Roger Waters, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Eddie Van Halen, David Lee Roth, as well as some of these artists' band members.
