My passion for photography reignited and music was the spark for this re-emergence. Music is an important part of my life – an expression of who I am, and the essence of my spirit. I discovered rock music at ten years old and through the decades, stayed current with the music trends. I appreciate the old and the new. As a young adult, I enjoyed photography as a hobby, but unfortunate circumstances in the late 1990s led to an abandonment of this interest. In 2009, music was the catalyst for a reawakening of my photographic journey.
One of my favorite photography genres is concert photography. I enjoy the dynamic of capturing images that hold raw energy, variable lighting and constant stage movement. I also appreciate the boundless art of outdoor and nature photography. Several years ago, I discovered the unique photography genre associated with urban exploration/Urbex - also known as photography of abandoned sites - and this style has become a favorite. I appreciate the essence of an environment that is out of the ordinary and the ability to capture transience. It is the thrill of the mystery and what I may discover that lures me to such places.
