Washington D.C. has an abundance of beautiful backdrops. Marble buildings, grand houses of worship, bronze statutes and a dizzying array of interesting museums greet the photographer. I live where history was/is made. Capturing different perspectives of the hardware housed at the Udvar Hazy Air & Space Museum was a challenge and the peacefulness of the Martin Luther King Jr. and various war Memorials on the National Mall, as well as the annual Rolling Thunder event evoke deep reflection. I so love the liveliness and colorful images of The Eastern Market, the bright ferris wheel at National Harbor, and the Koi Fish pond at the National Arboretum. I am fascinated with the sweeping scale of the National Cathedral, St. Matthews Cathedral, Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and Mormon Temple. The solemn reverence at Arlington National Cemetery is always present, especially on Memorial Day and the laying of the wreaths in December. Great Falls National Park is so beautiful, but the most interesting aspect about this place are the bold people that challenge the Falls via kayak - even Santa is a risk-taker.
